The Queen's Green Canopy

A living legacy of over three million trees planted across the United Kingdom in honour of Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

The Queen’s Green Canopy (QGC) was a unique nationwide tree planting initiative created to mark Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022.

Across the United Kingdom, people from all walks of life were invited to “Plant a tree for the Jubilee” to create a legacy in honour of Her late Majesty’s leadership of the nation, to benefit future generations.

Following Queen Elizabeth’s passing, at the wish of the QGC Patron, His Majesty The King, the initiative was extended to March 2023 to give people an opportunity to plant trees in memoriam to honour Her late Majesty.

Over the course of two tree planting seasons, the QGC created a living legacy of over three million trees planted across the nation as a lasting tribute to Queen Elizabeth’s extraordinary service to her country and her people.

The children and staff at All Saints have been planting trees in our school grounds. These trees will help the environment to cope with climate change. They will provide oxygen to help us breathe and habitats for animals and mini-beasts to live in. In addition, everyone in our local community will be able to enjoy our new woodland areas for many years to come. We are proud to have our Queen's Green Canopy submission approved.
With the support of Warwickshire Wildlife Trust children in Years 2 and 4 have been having fabulous Outdoor Learning Lessons on a Thursday afternoon. Following these lessons, children from Year 3 and 4 have the opportunity to participate in an Outdoors Afterschool Club. Have a look at the photographs of some of the fun they've been having.

Today, Thursday 7th December was our last session with Warwickshire Wildlife Trust. Year 2 were enjoying activities inside today. They have really enjoyed their Outdoor Learning lessons. Thank you to Anna from WWT for making their lessons informative and fun. Year 2 really hope she liked the card they made for her.
