Children's Mental Health Week
Children's Mental Health Week is taking place on 1-7 February 2021. This year's theme is 'Express Yourself'.
Expressing yourself is about finding ways to share feelings, thoughts or ideas through creativity. This could be through art, music, writing and poetry, dance and drama, photography and film and doing activities that make you feel good.
An important part of this theme is that expressing yourself doesn't mean that you're the best at something. It's all about finding a way to show other people who you are and how you feel. It's about showing how you see the world and finding a ways to 'express' yourself which feels good to you. Expressing yourself in a way that's unique to you is a great way to improve mental wellbeing.
Visit the Website for more activities and resources to use at home such as 'draw your feelings' and the 'squiggle game'
Share Your Scarf Week
1st -5th February is Share your Scarf week - part of Children's Mental Health Week.
We're providing extra SCARF at home resources to promote children's mental health.
These are simple activities for each day of the week-helping children build skills and strategies to keep mentally well by celebrating the SCARF values: SAFETY, CARING, ACHIEVEMENT, RESILIENCE and FRIENDSHIP.
The theme for Children's Mental Health Week is Express Yourself! Being creative in any way -art, music, cooking, gardening, for example is proven to boost mental health.
Finding a few minutes each day - or even each week - to do something creative, is as important as daily exercise.
Here are some simple, creative activities that don't need a lot of equipment. Children can do these alone, or with help from someone at home. The activities reinforce the SCARF values and provide valuable additional PSHE activities for children at home - or in school.

Lockdown Laptop Donations
The county went into National Lockdown on 5th January 2021. After hearing an article on BBC Radio Coventry and Warwickshire we registered with, amongst others, a company called The Speedy Bear who donate devices to schools. They have very kindly donated devices, which we have gratefully received.
“We think that the company who has donated these laptops for our school is
very thoughtful and generous. They will help us with our learning. We want to
say thank you very much for your kindness”. - Children
“It’s really comforting that in these difficult times, people do still care and
community spirt is still around”. - Mrs Kaminski-Gaze, Headteacher
